THE LUMINEERS LOOKING FOR A LOCAL OPENING ACT

The Lumineers. PICTURE:5FM American folk rock band The Lumineers return to South Africa for their Cleopatra World Tour powered by 5FM in April. Brought to you by Big Concerts, the events take place in Cape Town on 26 April at Green Point Park and in Johannesburg on 28 April at Ticketpro Dome. As proud supporters of the local music industry, 5FM are offering their listeners the opportunity to choose the opening local act for The Lumineers. Six up and coming bands have been identified and listeners will be asked to vote for them via the 5FM app from Monday, 6 February. From the votes, three of the front-running bands will be announced and The Lumineers will chose the eventual opening act for the tour.  The six bands in the running are; Sean Kock Trio , Opposite the Other, Sannie Fox, Early Hours, Alice Phoebe Lou and The Shabs. 5FM ANNOUNCES MINOR CHANGES

It’s that time of the year again at 5FM; April brings with it a few tweaks to the weekday line-up and bigger changes to the weekend. 5FM will be shaking things up just a little with regards to the presenters and producers. There are also some great new programming changes and innovative radio additions.   We’re most excited about our programming additions. Last year we set a trend by kicking off breakfast  at 5am  and this year we’re trying something new again.  We’re adding on a new talk element similar to the popular Ted Talks which morning presenter  Nick Hamman  will play host to. The feature,  5Talks , forms part of 5FM’s CSi Youngblood5 and will see Nick chatting to motivational South Africans and young achievers in a monthly talk show setting that will translate on air on the Rob Forbes and Fix show on the third Friday between  15:00-16:00 .    The Roger Goode Show has altered the Ulimix a little and will refer to their  18:0...
