THE LUMINEERS LOOKING FOR A LOCAL OPENING ACT

American folk rock band The Lumineers return to South Africa for their Cleopatra World Tour powered by 5FM in April. Brought to you by Big Concerts, the events take place in Cape Town on 26 April at Green Point Park and in Johannesburg on 28 April at Ticketpro Dome.

As proud supporters of the local music industry, 5FM are offering their listeners the opportunity to choose the opening local act for The Lumineers. Six up and coming bands have been identified and listeners will be asked to vote for them via the 5FM app from Monday, 6 February.
From the votes, three of the front-running bands will be announced and The Lumineers will chose the eventual opening act for the tour. The six bands in the running are; Sean Kock Trio, Opposite the Other, Sannie Fox, Early Hours, Alice Phoebe Lou and The Shabs.

For the next three weeks on every Tuesday and Thursday, kicking off on 7 February, each of the bands will be interviewed by Nick Hamman, who will also play their track. Each band’s music will also be played on The Forbes and Fix Show and listeners will be asked to get voting for their favourites. The opening act will be announced on 5FM on 13 March. - release by 5FM

The gorgeous magazine editor of Destiny, Khanyi Dhlomo who also happens to be the sister to Sizwe Dhlomo, is to wed her Nigerian-American beau in December. THE NAKED BATTLE AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE!

The NAKED ISSUE of Marie Claire always causes a stir in the country and this year's issue has proven no different. It has been criticised and bashed for being a bad thing, but I say they are doing the right thing. If it means that people have to take off their clothes to tell people to stop abuse so be it.  Besides its done rather tastefullly and classy, nothing raunchy and has Learnado Da Vinci potraitic presence in it.
