And this weekend, this theory was proved at the 11th South African Film and Television Awards where some of the local favourite shows were left empty handed when 181 judging panelists opted for "quality over quantity”. Founded by the National Film and Video Foundation, the nominee announcement which happened on Thursday morning in Bryanston saw local film and television personalities clapping and at times sighing at the nominees that were announced, with Kani even expressing that the awards should “reflect the population demographics of the country”.
