Oprah sends Bo Obama a gift package to the White House

I must say I have never heard of something called a first pet, but that is exaclty what Bo Obama is to the Obama's in the white House. That dog is even managing to get more publicity than anything else in that house. READ THIS: How is first dog Bo? “He’s kind of crazy, but he’s still a puppy. So he likes to play a lot,” First Lady Michelle Obama told children visiting the White House for the annual Take Your Child to Work Day on Thursday. On Wednesday, she recalled, “it was like 10 o’clock. Everybody was asleep and we hear all this barking and jumping around. The president and I came out and we thought somebody was out there. And it was just Bo. He was playing with his ball. And it was like there was another person in the house.” The 6-month-old Portuguese water dog “loves to chew on people’s feet,” she added. The president’s daughters have a much better treat in store this holiday weekend: a new dog! After months of anticipation, a 6-month-old Portuguese Water Dog named Bo is now calling the White House home. First, the name. According to the Washington Post , which published confirmation of the White House dog news Sunday, Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7, chose the name because their cousins have a cat named Bo and because Mrs. Obama’s father was nicknamed Diddley, as in Bo Diddley. T he dog is a gift from Sen. Ted Kennedy, who owns three dogs of the same breed, known for high spirits and said to be a good fit for kids with allergies (such as Malia). Kennedy had been lobbying the Obamas to get a Portuguese Water Dog (or PWD) for months.
