2016 ZEITZ MOCAA GALA DINNER

PICTURE: WEB AFRICA’s leading art exhibition spot is ZEITZ Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (known as Zeitz MOCAA) on Saturday hosted their second Gala dinner at the V&A Waterfront with the who’s who of the entertainment industry in tow. Due to open in 2017, the nine-storey museum will be housed in two disused silos and will arguably be the most important repository of contemporary African artwork on the continent. Locals such as DA leader Mmusi Maimane, designer Thula Sindi, current Miss SA Liesl Laurie, model LeeAnn Liebenberg and Miss SA 2000 Jo-ann Strauss and , businesswomen Bridgette Radebe and Dr Precious Moloi-Motsepe were all there to experience the big night. FORMER MISS SOUTH AFRICA TITLE HOLDERS TO MENTOR 2015 FINALISTS

Now 12 former title holders will be mentoring this year’s finalists who will be vying for the Miss South Africa 2015 crown at Sun City on March 29. The finalists met their mentors at a function in Johannesburg which was also attended by current Miss South Africa Ziphozakhe Zokufa. Jo-Ann Strauss treats girls like Princesses

Aim to turn girls into princesses FORMER Miss South Africa Jo- Ann Strauss is playing fairy godmother to scores of Cinderellas who wouldn’t make it to the ball without her. Strauss, who is also a presenter on TV show Top Billing, has marshalled her glamourous friends to donate some of their ball gowns and cocktail frocks to girls who cannot afford designer dresses for their matric farewell parties . Now Strauss is also planning to turn her Princess Project — which has already donated 70 frocks to deserving girls around the country — into a TV show, and will not only provide dresses to die for, but “also gives the girls a full makeover”. Those who have donated designer outfits include socialite and businesswoman Uyanda Mbuli, singers Louise Carver and Judith Sephuma, model and surfer Roxy Louw and former Miss Universe and TV presenter Michelle McLean.
