Virgin mogul boss Richard Branson has a lot of good memories of South Africa as he labels this country as his favorite vacation destination ever. I never saw this coming but since he is one of my favourite people in the world... I must say I am chuffed he loves us. READ: I love South Africa. It has emerged from such a troubled past with huge spirit and determination. READ my story from The Times : R&B singer Akon was granted his wish to meet President Jacob Zuma yesterday. “It’s a pity that he couldn’t teach me any singing because I can sing on my own,” joked Zuma, who is known for his rendition of Umshini Wami. The Senegalese-born singer arrived from the US on Wednesday to launch his clothing label here. When he expressed a desire to meet South Africa’s No1 citizen, Zuma’s spokesman, Zizi Kodwa, arranged the brief get-together. Akon said Zuma was one of the reasons he had come to South Africa: “I want to meet him to [formally introduce myself] as an African artist with the same voice that he has.” He said he would encourage other singers to visit South Africa.
