Whitney Houston's album is coming...

If you a kid born in the 80s, then your singing heroes will include people like Miriah Carey, Lionel Ritchie, Brenda Fassie, Michael Jackson and for sure Whitney Houston.

Many of us can relate to the OK hits top 40 that constantly repeatedly played the song I will always love you hit over and over again until we all found ourselves singing the songs and even having a Song Books where we wrote down those crazy lyrics and we flooded music stores going all out to buy her Waiting To Exhale CD.
Yah those were the good old days.

But then we grew up and Miss Houston got involved dodgy dealings and married that looser of her husband called Bobby Brown and our music loving lives were never the same.
During the late '90s many noted a change in her behavior. She was often hours late for interviews, photo shoots, rehearsals, while cancelling concerts and talk-show appearances, as her life descended into her sad drug tales, her abusive relationship.
The missed performances and weight loss, people began to wonder if something was wrong, and rumors began of drug use with her husband. On January 11, 2000, airport security discovered marijuana in both Houston's and husband Bobby Brown's luggage at a Hawaiian airport, but the two boarded the plane and departed before authorities could arrive. Charges were later dropped against her and Brown, but rumors of drug usage among the couple would continue to surface. Two months later, Clive Davis was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Houston had been scheduled to perform at the event, but did not attend. Shortly after, Houston was scheduled to perform at the Academy Awards but was fired from the event by musical director and long time friend Burt Bacharach. Though her publicist cited throat problems as the reason for the cancellation, many speculated it was drugs.

And then music was never the same as she drowned in the drugs, the industry saw the coming up of younger black female singers like Beyonce Knowles, Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Rowland, Rihanna and many others, but nothing came from Houston.
But after seven years of no hit or music, Houston has cleaned herself up and plans on releasing her new album.

After a seven-year hiatus, Whitney Houston will release a new album Sept. 1, her record label announced Wednesday.
Houston’s seventh studio album – rumored to be titled Undefeated – will include the Diane Warren-penned “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength.”
Photographer Patrick Demarchelier recently worked with the singer for some promotional shots and called the day “fantastic.” “She was so full of life and energy. She moved well and was in such great spirits,” he said.
Houston, who divorced ex-husband Bobby Brown in 2007, has sold more than 170 million singles, albums and videos worldwide and is cited by the Guiness Book of World Records as music’s “most awarded female artist of all time” with a tally of 411 awards, including six Grammys and two Emmys.
