What wil become of Roka Lounge in SA?

Crime is just blowing up in this country. Last weekend Roka Lounge on 44 Stanley Road where Party People is hosted monthly by South African DJ Kenzhero, was robbed around 9h30pm by 8 men who walked into a club and stole over R30 000 from the owner Shakir Jadoo.
Gatecrash the wrong party in South Africa and you might not live to tell the tale. Last Saturday night 14th March 2009 Pop group Koldproduk were entertaining a packed out audience at Roka in Millpark Johannesburg, when a group of armed men entered the venue and robbed the place. Apparently the venue’s manager saw a couple of guys earlier that day scoping out the venue. Koldproduk were completely shocked and scared half to death. Moki-sage ‘it all happened so fast, one minute I’m standing at the DJ booth next to Soosh and then the next minute I see people crawling under tables and fleeing for their lives, and then someone said they shooting’. This is a real disappointment for the band but a reality check that at any time you could find yourself at the mercy of criminals. After the ordeal was over everyone was so relieved that no one got seriously injured, that when DJ Soosh resumed his set the music and good vibes let everyone go. ‘It puts things in perspective, our first koldproduk album is called ‘All under heaven’ and symbolizes that everything happens under g-d’s watchful eye’, says DJ Soosh. But one has to ask, Are we living in a time bomb? Are we truly free?
