SA Idols winner Jody Williams is doign really well...

WELL just when we were wondering what the past SA Idols winners Jody Williams now 19, is doing?
We receive great feedback on how she is really doing as I wrote about it in my story today on The Times.
Read this:

IDOLS 4 winner Jody Williams is doing so well from record sales and performances that she has been able to buy her parents a “luxurious” house.

Williams, from Cape Town, moved her family from Milnerton to a house in picturesque Durbanville rumoured to have cost her more than R1-million.

Though Williams and her manager, who will only reveal her first name, Esme, will not discuss the price of the family’s new home, Idols judge Randall Abrahams told The Times on Monday that the previous series’ winner is “doing really well”.

“Her CD has earned over R3.4-million and many people have downloaded her single, Kiss of Life. She has also received a lot of airplay on radio stations,” said Abrahams.

M-Net’s head of local productions, Helen Smit, said: “Jody has done really well as an Idol. Her CD sales have shot up, her school- work progress is very satisfactory, and she even managed to buy her parents a house.”

Williams, who was 17 and in Grade 11 when she won the competition, has not given up her studies. Despite her success, she achieved a 75 percent average for four of her matric subjects last year.

Williams said she is studying business economics, economics and tourism as her final matric subjects this year.

“I just started school this week and am working on my driver’s licence while still performing at several events,” she said. “I attend school after hours, with private lessons from my old teachers.”

Williams writes exams with the rest of her classmates, and her manager schedules her work according to her school timetable.

Williams, now 19, says she is supporting current Idols contestants Daniel Baron and Sasha Lee Davids because she believes they are the most talented.

Her advice to them: “The Top 10 is when you have to focus on what you want because you are there to win,” she said.
