METROFM is making a change!

RADIO station Metro FM is putting a spin to the campaign “Bring A Girl Child To Work Day” as they start another campaign called “Men in the Making.”
Similar to that of the females, this newly introduced campaign is aimed to urging businesses in the country to welcome high school boys into their offices or boardrooms, giving them a glimpse of into the dynamics of the workplace for one day on the 26 March.
Station manager Matona Sakupwanya said the initiative is just as important as that of the Bring A Girl Child To Work Day but the difference being to aim at boys.
“The boys of today are the adult men if tomorrow, who will be making a major contribution to the success or otherwise of this country,” she said.
This campaign will not only focus on the suburban schools as the station is working together with the Department of Education along with vehicle tacking company Tracker will also identify schools in impoverished  areas, to be part of this new programme.
“It is important that we encourage the young men to realise the value of education and for them to also be motivated to be the best they can be. A small gesture of encouragement now could light a fire withing a child and dramatically alter their approach t their studies and their general outlook on life,” said Sakupwanya.
The initiative is already getting a thumbs up from many station listeners as one listener Smiley said: “Wow! A good initiative for the boys to keep them out of the street and Dream BIG,” she said.
Another listener Miss Love said: “This is a great initiative, this will really help many young men.”
