Golden Globes Awards

But aren’t they always.
One surprised award winner Kate Winslet was on a mission as she dissed and laughed her way to that stage as she got two awards as Best Actress in a Drama Revolutionary Road and Supporting Actress in The Reader, after being nominated for timeously for an award at the Globes, Miss dearest couldn't believe it. Poor thing was confused whether she should cry, laugh or just go crazy.
This is what she had to say when she took her second award: ."I thought that Anne Hathaway was going to win. No question. I really do feel like this is a dream. Has this happened before? This is not supposed to happen."
I love her though, for that prim and proper accent, she almost resembles a British Madame!
And then there was that rather predictable award given to the late Heath Ledger for Best Supporting Actor in the film Dark Knight, as the Joker.
"It's always beautiful to think of him and remember him." — Aaron Eckhart, who co-starred in "The Dark Knight" with Heath Ledger, talking about the late actor.
Ledger who was up against veteran actors like Tom Cruise, Robert Downey Jr., Ralph Fiennes and Philip Seymour Hoffman.
Accepting the award for Ledger — who died last January of an accidental overdose of prescription medication in his home in New York City — was the film's director, Christopher Nolan, who said that Ledger "will never be forgotten."
And there was a moment of sadness in the room but people cheered the late actor as if he was there.
This sent me thinking just how our awards and the US ones are so incommon as dead people also get awards, but people cheer on as if the person was alive. But when they are alive they are not recognised as much as they are when alive. It’s a crying shame, but Ledger deserved the award more than any of the other actors as he played that role so beliecably, I was frightned of the joker too.
Kudoz to Heath.
