Best known to her fans as Namhla through her acting in the SABC1 popular soapie, the 23-year-old today revealed that she was starting her new venture as a DJ known as "Thuli P" aka "Jewel of the Nile". The University of Johannesburg graduate in Strategic Marketing Communications, the actress plans to not only conquer the entertainment industry but also to firmly establish herself and her business interest. 

NASTY C CALLS HIS HATERS

YOUNG rapper Nasty C is not shy to flaunt his earnings. The Hell Naw hitmaker real named David Junior Ngcobo today posted a video of himself on Twitter holding a bulk of R100 notes as his telephone device, chatting to what he referred to as “haters”. In the 36-seconds long video clip, Ngcobo claims he couldn’t hear them clearly due to bad signal, before dropping the notes in exchange for a 50 cent coin on which miraculously could hear the haters “loud and clear”. The rapper was last week announced as one of the faces to new Puma # RunTheStreets campaign alongside musicians  Gigi Lamayne, Mashayabuqhe, Nonku Phiri and Rolo Rozay. Next month he is set to headline  the  second edition of  NickFest with singer Shekhinah at the the country’s biggest and most exciting family-centric festival next month.

POWER MAKES CHANGES

As it enters its fourth year of broadcast, Gauteng-based commercial talk radio station, POWER 98.7 will refresh its on-air line up effective 1 March 2017. Joanne Joseph joins Power. Lawrence Tlhabane, who presented the breakfast show will move into a stand-in role. FIRST FEMALE WILL GRACE KICK OFF COVER

PICTURE:Twitter/Sbu_Fundraiser TELEVISION personality Minenhle Dlamini will make history as she becomes the first female to feature on Kick Off Magazine’s cover next month. According to the magazine’s editor SbusisoMjikeliso , the personality who announced her engagement to television producer Quinton Jones last December, is said to have “one heck of a story to tell”.  Earlier this month the 26-year-old was announced as host of an all-new lifestyle and entertainment show on Mzansi Magic, to be co-produced by SuperSport.  She will also work on other sport properties on SuperSport, including Love PSL and Super Diski presentation. The magazine will be out in stores tomorrow. 

TOWNSHIP ENTREPRENEUR BATTLE HITS TV SCREENS

ANOTHER local business show will hit our screens this week. The  reality show dubbed TEA (Township Entrepreneurship Awards) Business battle, is set to profile and celebrate the entrepreneurial talent of this year's Township Entrepreneurship Awards 2017 through six episodes that will feature 33 entrepreneurs and 7 judges. For the show judges will be seen doing on-site visits of each entrepreneur's operation while also telling stories of how they started their businesses to get where they are today. Each week judges will eliminate entrepreneurs with only one standing a chance to be crowned the  Entrepreneur of the Year in Gauteng. Business Battle premiers, 24 February 2017 at 17H30 on e-tv. 

BLACK COFFEE HINTS HIS SNEAKER RANGE

FACT, DJ Black Coffee is unstoppable. The multiple award-winning DJ, real named Nkosinathi Maphumulo started the year in a bang when he said “I Do” to his long term partner Mbali Enhle Mlotshwa in a ceremony held at Sun City . Last week he announced his residency in Ibiza starting in June till September and now, he’s announced he’ll be launching his own sneaker range, a collaboration he’ll be taking with an Italian shoe company.    “ Crazy but productive day.......soon to announce news and preview our new sneaker collaboration from Italy," wrote the muso on his Instagram page. Currently in Milan to attend Milan Fashion Week which started yesterday ending on February 28, Maphumulo is clearly living large as he shared snaps of himself attending Canadian fashion designer duo Dean and Dan Caten’s soiree.

THERE GOES THAT HOSTING IDEA

IT has barely been two week since the public broadcaster announced they will be bringing reality dinner hosting show Come Dine With Me South Africa to their channel, and they've ditched it. The British concept show belonging to production house Rapid Blue has been pulled off SABC3 by the broadcaster who claimed the "right holders of the show have withdrawn their offer to produce the show" for them. It was set to start airing in July as calls for applicants were made by the production house. SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago apologised to the fans in a statement on Tuesday. " The SABC would like to apologise to all South Africans who adhered to the call to action in anticipation that we would be producing the show.  The SABC strives to have the best local television formats and will continue to pursue bringing you the best of local premium content. PICTURE:People.com REIGNING Miss South Africa Ntandoyenkosi Kunene has been hit by fake news site which claimed she has been arrested for smuggling drugs in London. The site which is disguising itself as UK Metro, published the news claiming that the pageant queen was caught at “Heathrow International Airport with two kilograms of cocaine hidden in two bags of coffee inside two suitacase”. “Ntandoyenkosi, who arrived with an early morning flight was taken to a private search room, where the officers found a second bag full of powder. Both tested positive for coacaine,” reads the story. NINETIES R&B singer Karyn White is coming to South Africa next month. COACH BOBBY NABS ALL THE TALENT COACHES WANT

For the first time ever in the history of   The Voice South Africa,   a talented singer picked coach Bobby van Jaarsveld after a four-chair turn. Throughout the first season’s Blind Auditions, and up until now, the talent always preferred joining the teams of co-coaches Lira, Kahn Morbee or Karen Zoid, but this week chemical engineer Marco Basson (23) made Bobby reign supreme. Marco wowed the coaches with his rendition of Nick Jonas’ “Jealous”, and when they turned around they were stunned to see that the powerful voice belonged to such a nerdy-looking guy.
