BLACK COFFEE, AKA AND CASSPER NYOVEST VYING FOR A BET AWARD

Locals AKA, Black Coffee and Cassper Nyovest vying for the a BET Award.  BET Africa , part of Viacom’s African multimedia entertainment portfolio, today announced the nominations for the 2016 "BET Awards" taking place at Microsoft Theatre, Los Angeles, California, on Sunday 26 June, and premiering across Africa on BET (DStv channel 129) on Tuesday 28 June at 19:00 CAT. Russian Bear is the official South Africa sponsor of the BET Awards 2016. Recognising the growing international appeal of African contemporary artists, eight African artists have been honoured in the BET Awards. Leading the charge for South African music are hip hop giants AKA and Cassper Nyovest and dance/house legend Black Coffee, while Nigeria is represented by Wizkid (winner of the award in 2012) and Afro-pop diva, Yemi Alade.  East African sensation Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania), Ghana’s dancehall/R&B queen Mzvee and Cote D’Ivoire’s CoupĂ© DecalĂ© star Serge Beynaud round out the nominees for

Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross to host the BET Awards next weekend. PICTURE: WEB BET is amping up the volume at the BET Awards 2016 after it was revealed that Usher, Future and Bryson Tiller will join the ultra-talented line-up of performers at the 16th annual awards show on Sunday 26 June 2016.    Hosted by Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross, the “BET Awards” will also include performances by previously announced artists, Alicia Keys and Maxwell. The BET Awards premieres across Africa on BET (DStv channel 129) on Tuesday 28 June at 19:00 CAT. Sheila E., The Roots, D’Angelo and Janelle Monae are also slated as the first artists to be part of the special celebration paying homage to the creative genius of Prince. FASHIONISTAS always overlook the men when it comes to red carpet style. Unless they are in pink and overly flashy then the chances of them even getting a mention are always really scarce. This was also a fact when it came to the 22 nd South African Music Awards red carpet looks for the event that took place in Durban last Saturday at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre. The stars came out in droves being shuttled into the venue to walk the red carpet for the event themed “the future is here’’ at the event hosted by the ever-so-hilarious Somizi Mhlongo and 5FM radio personality Thando Thabethe. Mrs Right Guy hits the right note at local cinemas. It secured fifth place on the industry Top Ten this past weekend just behind Money Monster .
