REIGNING Miss South Africa Ntandoyenkosi Kunene has
been hit by fake news site which claimed she has been arrested for smuggling drugs in London.
The site which is disguising itself as UK Metro,
published the news claiming that the pageant queen was caught at “Heathrow International
Airport with two kilograms of cocaine hidden in two bags of coffee inside two
suitacase”.
“Ntandoyenkosi, who arrived with an early morning
flight was taken to a private search room, where the officers found a second
bag full of powder. Both tested positive for coacaine,” reads the story.
But this GabPostSA
has learned that the “news is all FAKE” as Sun International head of publicity
Claudia Henkel clarified that the model “is not in London”. Henkel, a former beauty queen herself said they “chose to ignore the the reports as we believed that people would realise it was from a fake site”.
“In light of the fact that we have had queries from legitimate media outlets we would like to set the record straight. Nando has not been arrested and she has not been caught with any drugs in her possession.
“She is currently in South Africa and is not in London, in fact she has never bee there,” said Henkel.

The 23-year-old beauty from Mpumalanga is not the
first local celebrity to be affected by this site, which last month claimed
that local comedian Trevor Noah was “fired from the Daily Show”, which also was
inaccurate.
And Kunene seems to not be paying the entire thing any
mind as she earlier today posted a portrait of herself with an inspirational quote:
“A single thread of hope is still a very powerful thing”.
Later chatting with her instagram followers, Kunene commented on the allegations: “I was just having tea at that time and then I hear I am in London... It's all fake news”.
