AFTER being rocked by a scandal of people showcasing their fake homes and lavish lives in season one, South Africa’s most ‘indulgent’ lifestyle show VUZU   Rich Kids   is back with a second serving. A brave move for the channel and the show’s producers – MiCasa leading man J-Something and his business partner   Dale Herbst, who faced massive criticism on social media last year after the airing of the fourth episode of the show, featuring Angolan-born Alekssandre Fortunato. The 25-year-old who dubbed himself a reality star, model and club promoter   had claimed he was rich when social media gangs claimed he wasn’t, revealing that Fortunato had claimed a mansion in Woodmead, northern Johannesburg, belonging to businessman Andre Michael Sari was his when in fact it wasn’t. Eight part drama follows adventures of the hugely charismatic, roguish, American adventurer Hooten (Michael Landes) and his feisty partner in crime, Lady Alexandra (Ophelia Lovibond) as they travel the world in the series mostly shot in South Africa. Filming also took place in locations as varied as Cambodia, Moscow and London, but the production was primarily based in Cape Town, shooting across South Africa for around 100 days with service company Out of Africa. The country doubled for the likes of Russia, the Caribbean, the Amazon and Bhutan, while an adapted studio space was used in an industrial area outside Cape Town. PICTURE: Web ON Sunday Mzansi Magic announced their Top 10 Idols: South Africa contestants and hopeful Siyakha Tshayela's lack of honest disclosure found her exempt from the show just days before this revelation. According to a statement released by the channel's PR head for local entertainment Nondumiso Mabece, the case which found Tshayela, t he "Gauteng High Court has concluded that Idols and M-Net were entitled to exclude Ms. Siyakha Tshayela from the “Top 16” round of Idols". "Ms. Tshayela had asked the court on Saturday evening (17 September 2016) to allow her to participate in the Top 16 round despite not complying with one of the significant rules of the competition: that she be able to sign an exclusive recording deal with a label identified by Idols," stated the release.  The channel sites that Tshayela's court application failed and was then withdrawn from the show  as a c

PICTURE: WEB This month could be the last time reality show Our Perfect Wedding viewers see their longest running host Thembisa Mdoda on air, as Mzansi Magic today revealed she will be replaced by Isibaya actress Jessica Nkosi . In a statement released today (16/09/2016) the channel welcomed the Clinique ambassador as a new host of the wedding reality show, with her episodes anticipated to resume on  9 th   of October 2016, a role Nkosi - affectionately known as Qondi by her fans - will be joining the show for 13 weeks. This won't be the first time Nkosi takes the lead at weddings as in May she proved a hit when she held in for  Mdoda who went on break between May 29 and July 10.  "Jessica Nkosi became the viewer’s favourite after presenting a couple of episodes. SIYAKHA HAS BEEN WITHDRAWN FROM IDOLS

PICTURE: MNET/IDOLS IDOLS: SOUTH AFRICA contestent Siyakha Tshayela has been withdrawn from the 2016 season of the show with effect from 15th September 2016 as a result of a dispute between herself and an independent recording company. In a statement released by MNET head of publicity for local channels Nondumiso Mabece on Thursday evening, "p articipants are required to sign an exclusive recording deal with the Idols-appointed recording label when they enter the series". "On the 1 st of August, Ms. Tshayela informed us that she had entered into discussions with an independent recording company before entering Idols, but she maintained there was no contract in place. The recording company insists there is," reads the statement.  According to the channel, discussions have been held with all the affected parties since then, but there is still no resolution for the hopeful singer who impressed many with her
