THE NAKED BATTLE AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE!

Image
The NAKED ISSUE of Marie Claire always causes a stir in the country and this year's issue has proven no different. It has been criticised and bashed for being a bad thing, but I say they are doing the right thing. If it means that people have to take off their clothes to tell people to stop abuse so be it.  Besides its done rather tastefullly and classy, nothing raunchy and has Learnado Da Vinci potraitic presence in it. Last years issue saw Gina Athens on the cover, inside it featured the four voluptuos singing DIVAS, poet Ntsiki Mazwai and designer of Loxion Culture Sechaba, it was all there. This year is different as it features Minki Visser (nee Van Der Westhizen) as the cover girl, hot soccer player Ryan Botha, beautiful MetroFM DJ, actor Clint Brink and his ex fiance actres Genevieve (Grace from Generations) and the "Smarter than a 5th Grader" presenter Soli Philander.  They bared it all for the name of "Celeb Couples against Domestic Violence". And the dumbest millionaire is....PARIS! Duuuuure!

Image
ITS official billionaire heiress Paris Hilton is the dumbest dooshbag of note and she makes it a point to remind us all in the world daily. Most recently Miss Thang, was quoted having said that US chef Gordon Ramsey is the Prime Minister of England, but then correctly said it was Gordon Brown.  From the way the  Daily Mail  words this, it’s unclear when she got it right but OMG she is stupid, even I am tired of saying this. Here is what the article said: "Paris Hilton has insisted that her airhead heiress image is just an act for the cameras. But is seems the star, who is in the country with her new reality television show to search for a ‘British Best Friend’ cannot even name the Prime Minister. Miss Hilton gushed how much she loved the UK but when quizzed who the prime minister was, said: ‘It’s Gordon… Gordon Ramsay?’ The 27-year-old later corrected herself and named Gordon Brown as leader, blaming the mix up on the fact that she had eaten at Ramsay’s restaurant recently. She la

J&B MET FASHION ADVICE YOU COULD USE OR NOT??

Image
With the J&B MET on this weekend, I cannot wait to see what people will be wearing and no worries as Gabiville will have the pics and juice to dish, for those who don’t have moola or have other plans other than go to the Met. But I say you snooze you lose regardless. Well I have seen plenty of fashion faux pas happen in the past events, the Met, the July, the Metros, Fashion Weeks and not forgetting the SAMAs. And some even happen over our shores with the Golden Globes, The Oscars, World Music Awards, The MTV awards and even the Grammy’s. I tell you people, nothing beats simple and classic look that suits your body shape and colour. Since this event will be happening in the sun, on the grass, with loads of heat penetrating the skin. I believe that people should have summer, bright ensembles and for the brave, perhaps a hat. But please not the Aretha Franklin Hat please, that will just be a serious FAUX PAS of note. SA popular designer Gavin Rajah, said: “I will be working with a l

OBAMA and MADIBA have so much in common, its CRAZY!!

Image
The freakiest thing happened to me when I started seeing pictures of new US President Barrack Hussein Obama and that of our own former President Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela . They have so much in common it gave me goosebumps, I mean how often do two people accomplish the same thing and seem so much alike? I don’t know about you but this sent yours truly thinking that just maybe they are “God Sent” as Bishop Tutu said of the two. Well here are the obvious common facts: · They are both first black presidents of two different states, after much fuss and fight over the questionability of the leadership of black people · They made history of their own as first black people to lead their respective countries · They are both family men, with wives and children- and both have two famous daughters now · They got the most publicity when they were sworn into presidency · They are intelligent · Religious men · They were both sportsmen when they

Slumdog Millionare wins AGAIN!

Now I really cant wait for the movie to come out, it got 4 Golden Globes, a Screenplay Actors Guild award for best cast, now it has 9 Oscar nominations with strong rumours that it will get the Best Motion picture award. I really have to see it, the trailer seems great, I wish it was in SA already.

Aretha Franklin Hat has errrybody talking...Me too! And now the world wants to buy it? WTF?

Image
The oh so somehow ridiculous hat of singing Diva and Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin is sending people in a buzz, after she wore a grey over the top ribboned with bling hat to the Obama inauguration last week. That day the queen sang for a moving song at the event, I was surprised how weird I was feeling about the the site of the hat, I couldn't even pay note to her gorgeous timeless voice. A group on Facebook called Aretha Franklin Hat Club was formed and already has 100 and something fans to the infamous hat. Talkshow host Ellen DeGeneres mocked the hat by wearing a similar one to her show saying: “That would of been so embarrassing. The next thing you know, we would have been in Us Weekly’s ‘Who Wore it Better? The stores said this is the only one they made! I can’t believe it!”- joked Ellen. Us Weekly blogger said: “What was up with Aretha Franklin’s hat at the inauguration? While it’s quite Aretha-like, between the shape and the bow and the glitter she reminded me of the ba

Atleast be happy you were invited...

Image
What does Divas Miriah Carey , Beyonce Knowles and Louis Vitton brat Kanye West have in common? Let me tell you. They are all ungrateful brats of the Diva States, these three decided to tell anyone that can listen about their unhappy time at the President Barrack Obama Inauguration gig that took place in Washington D.C. last week. Boo hoo , who cares? I mean they were not even invited and rumoured to have volunteered to wanting to be a part of it, if they are accommodated aside from the millions of people that attended the event. Bare in mind that the celebs were arranged into a Celebs ONLY booth, where they at least had a view of the Presidential booth, ample security, great coffee service, catered food, superbly seated next to Divas such as Aretha Franklin, Alicia Keys, Jamie Foxx , Mary J Blige but none of them seem to be happy with that arrangement either. Sources close to Miriah said: " "SOME divas cling to their high-maintenance ways even at moments of hist

Brazilian model dies at 20!

Image
The Brazilian model who had her hands and feet amputated in a desperate bid to save her life has died as a result of her infection. Mariana Bridi da Costa, 20, died early Saturday morning after battling the illness for weeks, Associated Press reported. The young model had reportedly been diagnosed with kidney stones before doctors discovered she had a urinary tract infection caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa - a rare type of bacteria known to be drug resistant. The infection limited the amount of oxygen being pumped to her hands and her feet, forcing doctors to amputate. Mariana's grieving father Agnaldo Costa spoke to reporters outside the hospital where she died. "God is comforting our hearts because he wanted her to be with him now," he said. "I can't accept that my daughter left us so soon." The Brazilian beauty appeared to be on her way to a glittering modelling career, having made the final stages of the Brazilian part of the Miss World pageant.

Kelly Osborne in rehab AGAIN?!

Image
Kelly Osbourne in rehab NOT AGAIN! The supposed singer Osbourne, daughter of rock legend and reality TV star Ozzy Osbourne, is in rehab for what? That is yet to be known, but looking at her pics lately, i say DRUGS like her kid brother. The 24-year-old star has checked in to a treatment facility just outside Los Angeles, but no further details have been released. Her mother Sharon confirmed: "Yeah, Kelly's in rehab. What else can we say? She knew that it was the right thing to do at this point and we're proud that she did it. The family is all standing behind her. Kelly knew that she needed help and she's getting it." Sharon refused to specify what Kelly - who has checked into rehab twice before for an addiction to painkillers - is being treated for, but the star is expected to stay in the facility for at least 30 days. An emotional Sharon added to Radar Online: "Kelly will tell you herself when she gets out. We just pray that everything's going to be OK.

US want to make a movie on the Hudson River accident

Image
Its only been two or was it three weeks after the Hudson River accident, and already American film directors are fighting over who will make a movie about the heroic accident. A flight that was carrying 155 passengers and flight attendants on board survived the emergency river landing on Jan 15 and the 57-year-old pilot has become a household name in America. he as last weekend honoured for his courageous work. But in the mean time Hollywood Directors are arguing on who will be the lucky contractor to get the tender to recreate the incident in a movie? I mean there have been rumours that Katie Holmes's hubby Tom Cruise will act the part of the hero pilot? I mean who would have thought that something like this will turn into a a movie squabble . Typical Americans, I know in SA it would take years to recreate such a thing, that is if the Americans don't beat us to it. Look at Slumdog Millionaire, and other flicks about our history, all American. Even Tsosti is not South Af

Image
N ow we see the kid sensational band visiting the Obama kids already. Malia, 10, and Sasha Obama, 7, straight after the inauguration of their dad, received a suprise visit from the Jonas brothers Last year November the two lucky chicks in the world got an invite from Billy Ray Cyrus, the father of Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus and also an actor on the hit Disney Channel show, to take part in an episode of the show possibly around April. What more is coming for the girls as they also have a chance to be stars in their own right? OMG, they are not even teens yet and already they are getting invites to popular shows, getting visited by famous bands, they have also had the chance to meet singing sensations such as Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Miriah Carey, Jay-Z, Aretha Franklin and many more stars. I am slightly jealous of the girl's cause not even I have had a chance to get invites to meet such great people. WHO knows maybe they are the next Hiltons or even the Nicol Richie.... If I were

MY Highlights of the Obama's Speech

Mr Barrack Hussein Obama's 1st Speech as president of USA. My fellow citizens: I stand here today humbled by the task before us, grateful for the trust you have bestowed, mindful of the sacrifices borne by our ancestors. I thank President Bush for his service to our nation as well as the generosity and cooperation he has shown throughout this transition. Forty-four Americans have now taken the presidential oath. The words have been spoken during rising tides of prosperity and the still waters of peace. Yet, every so often the oath is taken amidst gathering clouds and raging storms. At these moments, America has carried on not simply because of the skill or vision of those in high office, but because We the People have remained faithful to the ideals of our forbearers, and true to our founding documents. So it has been. So it must be with this generation of Americans. That we are in the midst of crisis is now well understood. Our nation is at war against a far-reaching network of vi
