TBO TOUCH PARTNERS WITH GARETH CLIFF

On to the next one for Tbo Touch after just a month after leaving MetroFM. PICTURE: Web RADIO personality Thabo “Tbo Touch” Molefe may have left the SABC building with his horn and American accent – things his fans loved him for but it certainly wasn’t the last we heard of him. On Friday morning, the radio maestro unveiled detailed plans of the future for his radio career with a twist - in a press conference that hoisted journalists and celebrities 50meters in the air, in a 5 star dinning-table at St Stithians north of Johannesburg . Dubbed “Touch-On-Air“, Molefe disclosed that he was launching an online broadcasting enterprise in partnership with fellow radio pioneer Gareth Cliff, called Touch Central. This venture aims to offer a music, lifestyle and talk platform not restricted by bureaucracy but instead, led by the listener’s views, demands and needs. IDOLS XII TAKES OFF WITH A BANG

After what seems like an interminable wait, Idols SA is finally back on our screens and last tonight’s episode proves just how eagerly it was awaited by South Africa! Arguably the most anticipated singing reality TV show of the year, the granddaddy of all talent shows kicked off in Durban where more than 2000 hopefuls lined the streets around the Playhouse for a chance to perform for judges Randall Abrahams, Unathi Msengana, Somizi Mhlongo and Gareth Cliff. In true Idols SA tradition, things got off to an exciting start with melodrama, catty contestants, funny guys, absolutely ludicrous Wooden Mic contenders, and of course, the magical voices. There was Luke Tombola, from Estcourt East. With her angelic smile and never-say-die attitude, the 26 year-old singer returned to Idols SA for a personal record 5 th audition.  Buoyed by the fact that she had been part of Robbie Malanga’s team in Clash of the Choirs, another winning Mzansi Magic show, her confidence was at its peak

PEARL THUSI TO FEATURE IN US SERIES QUANTICO

Television star Pearl Thusi scores a US gig. PICTURE: SUPPLIED TV personality and radio host Pearl Thusi reaches for the stars and joins the cast of one of the biggest shows on television, ABC’s drama series, Quantico. The sky has not been the limit for this feisty go-getter. Pearl has been expanding her acting portfolio at an accelerating rate and is continuing to rise.  Her sheer determination, hard work and focus has paved the way for this talented star.  “I have been such a big fan of the show for such a long time and it is a dream come true to be a part of it.  I am proud to be paving the way for South Africa and am absolutely thrilled to be joining the extraordinarily talented Quantico team," said Pearl. Pearl will play Dayana Mampasi, a driven, disciplined, type-A lawyer. After graduating top of her class at Harvard, she worked at an NGO for two years before joining her parents’ Boston firm. But though she seems to have it all, Dayana struggles to fit in.
