PICTURE: themercury.com.au LOCAL rapper Simiso “Okmalumkoolkat” Zwane has returned from Australia after serving a month in a prison in Tasmania for reportedly “sexually mauling a fellow artist who was asleep in her Hobart hotel room ”. The initial report by the Australian Mercury in January, stated that Zwane had pleaded guilty to the incident that occurred when he was in Australia to perform at Hobart ’s pre-eminent cultural festival MOFO . Today, Zwane issued a 285-word letter through his PR team Stamp Communications where he stated that he was “sincerely sorry to everybody that has been affected”. “I pleaded guilty for a number of reasons, one of which was that I was in a foreign country and was advised by legal aid to do so.
