VUZU RICK KIDS IS COMING BACK
AFTER being rocked by a scandal of people showcasing their fake
homes and lavish lives in season one, South Africa’s most ‘indulgent’ lifestyle show VUZU Rich Kids is back with a second serving.
A brave move for the channel and the show’s producers – MiCasa leading
man J-Something and his business partner Dale
Herbst, who faced massive criticism on social media last year after the airing
of the fourth episode of the show, featuring Angolan-born Alekssandre Fortunato.
The
25-year-old who dubbed himself a reality star, model and club promoter had claimed he was rich when social media gangs claimed he
wasn’t, revealing that Fortunato had claimed a mansion in Woodmead, northern
Johannesburg, belonging to businessman Andre Michael Sari was his when in fact it
wasn’t.
But the reality show managed to recover and was proven a fan-favourite,
and will return to look into the lives of some of South Africa’s wealthiest
kids, returns on 17 October on VUZU AMP (DStv channel 103).
According to the channel “this season totally raises the wealth bar with
faster cars, louder bling, bigger mansions, and all-out affluence”. And it
comes with a host V-Entertainment Nomuzi Mabena to scout the homes and all the
possessions of the wealthy.
“We’ve gone bigger and louder this year, but in addition to the new
levels of opulence, Nomuzi as host is a massive addition to the show. She’ll
definitely add an element of dynamism, credibility, with a touch of
naughtiness,” said Sphumelele Sibeko, Head of Reality for M-Net’s Local Entertainment
Channels.
“Working on Rich Kids was a lot of fun – the best part was
to see how ‘that other half’ live their lives and spend their money. Most days
I left set feeling really inspired to make loads of money because I got to see
first-hand what money can do for you and your family,” said Mabena.
Rich Kids next month on VUZU AMP from Monday, 17 October at 7PM. - release from MNET
