2016 BRIT AWARDS

Clad in white Balmain garment she kicked off her set with her   ANTI   album opener Consideration with special guest SZA, who was silhouetted and spotlighted in the background while singing her hypnotic, catchy chorus. And London Fashion Week came to a close with a bang at the ELLE Style Awards 2016, which saw famous faces such as Suki Waterhouse, Jourdan Dunn, Liv Tyler and Lana Del Rey pick up the top prizes of the night. SABC MEETS WITH NFVF ON TRANSFORMATION

The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) and the   National Film and Video Foundation   (NFVF) held broad discussions on the issue of transformation within the South African film and television industry. The meeting follows the announcement of nominees for the 10 th   South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) which took place last week Thursday. SABC Chief Operations Officer, Hlaudi Motsoeneng said the issue of transformation is very important to the SABC and is in line with our mandate as a public broadcaster. “The NFVF is a custodian of the growth and development of the local film and television industry, hence the need to find common ground in the interest of sustaining the partnership. We are therefore pleased that the NFVF is of the same mind on this issue and we are committed to working with them to transform the industry,” said Motsoeneng. R omance flick   Happiness is a Four-Letter Word , smashed box office on its opening weekend raking in 45 000 attendances and grossing receipts of R2 371 782.  On just its first three days the film starring Mmabatho Montsho, Khanyi Mbau and Renate Stuurman is said to have performed better than international releases such as 13 Hours , Secret soldiers of Benghazi , Hail Caesar! ,  50 Shades of Black and Trumbo .   It currently sits at the third spot on the Top 10 after Deadpool and Vir Altyd .
