TOP ACTOR AFRICA IS BACK

TOP Actor Africa is back with 12 more hopeful actors and actresses from the South, East and West of Africa. Each were chosen after grueling auditions in Johannesburg, Durban, Lagos and Nairobi – and each one hope to get their names out in the acting industry. 
The contestants include seven South Africans Shamilla Miller and Simhle Belinda Plaatjies from Cape Town, Farrell Drew from Durban and Marilyn Sekgapane, Jesse Suntele, Hendrik Lombard and Sabelo Sibeko from Johannesburg.  Three Nigerian participants namely; Tobechi Nneji, Uriel Oputa and Ifeanyi Dike, while flying the flag for Kenya are Lorreine Wangui Gakuo and Alex Khayo.
Senior Vice President & Managing Director, VIMN Africa, Alex Okosi, congratulated the contestants who have made the final cut.
“We are thrilled to have developed this powerful and proven platform for discovering and empowering African acting talent, and we look forward to seeing the drama unfold in season 2.”
Hosted by former Generations actress and star of Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom Zikhona Sodlaka, the return of the show will see the contestants tested in nine gruelling acting challenges, taking them through every genre from Improv to Comedy, Theatre, Soapie, Commercial, Romance, Horror, Drama and Action.
Something that 2015 winner, South African drama student Altovise Lawrence, knows more about. Her career has since blossomed as she has become an increasingly popular figure on BET, where she now hosts entertainment news show, BET Buzz.  Altovise recently shot her first Hollywood movie, The Other Side in the USA opposite Roger Guenvuer Smith, Brad James and Erica Hubbard. The film is due for theatrical release this year.
The contestants will be competing for the chance to win the title of Top Actor Africa. They will also  receive US$10,000 in cash, a one-year contract with international representation and access to Hollywood auditions.

Top Actor Africa premieres weekly on BET from Tuesday 1 March 2016 at @ 19:30 CAT.

Joost tape is out for all to see...

THE Joost van der Westhuizen sex tape saga descended into a tabloid frenzy last month as Heat magazine screened a grainy video purporting to show the former Springbok captain in compromising positions.  The 29-minute tape, which was shown to journalists, showed a man who bore some resemblance to Van der Westhuizen frolicking with what heat magazine described as a “vindictive young lady” wearing two G-strings “in the stripper tradition”.  It claimed that the video proved conclusively that Van der Westhuizen had cheated on his wife, singer Amore Vittone. But the magazine did not identify the woman and provided little corroborating evidence in the accompanying story. Twelve print, radio and television journalists watched the man, whom Van der Westhuizen strongly denies is him, arousing himself, running his hands over the woman’s body, and using a sex toy. Khanyi Dhlomo to wed for the 2nd time...

The gorgeous magazine editor of Destiny, Khanyi Dhlomo who also happens to be the sister to Sizwe Dhlomo, is to wed her Nigerian-American beau in December.
