CASTER Semenya is officially the biggest winner this year. The Olympic gold medallist who excelled at the Rio Olympics earlier this year, last night became the biggest winner at the eighth annual Feather Awards – nabbing the role model and sports personality of the year awards. This comes after Semenya scooped an Athlete of the Year award at the Gsport Award in August, which was followed by a personality of the year gong which she scored at the MTV Africa Music Awards last month. Hosted at the Kyalami Theatre on the Track by television personalities Lumko Johnson and Khanya Mkhangisa, the Feather Awards are ceremony from the LGBTI community which aim to celebrate public figures who empower and captivate them. MISS SA UNVEILS THEIR MISS WORLD GARMENTS

PICTURE: Yolanda van der Stoep Reigning Miss South Africa Ntandoyenkosi Kunene revealed some of her pageant costumes today as she prepares to compete in the Miss World competition in the US in December.   Kunene, the 24-year-old Mpumalanga beauty, will be representing South Africa against 119 other countries in the competition which is watched by more than one-billion people worldwide. Starting at the end of November, the 66th edition of Miss World will put the contestants through a series of challenges and interviews to determine who will win the coveted title of Miss World 2016, and become the ambassador of “Beauty with a Purpose”. Miss World 2016 will be held on December 18, 2016 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Centre, National Harbour, Washington, D.C with the current Miss World, Mireia Lalaguna of Spain, crowning her successor at the end of the event. They will then be able to vote for which girl they believe should wear the Miss South Africa crown. The Top 26 Miss South Africa Semi-Finalists – who are vying for the title of Miss South Africa 2017 – were announced earlier this year. The Cape Town based studios which also created two of the highest-grossing South African animation films of all time ,   Adventures in Zambezia   and   Khumba , will go against   Disney’s   Counterfeit Cat , Cartoon Network’s   The Amazing World of Gumball   and Aardman Animations’   Shaun The Sheep: The Farmer’s Llamas . The Daily Show with Trevor Noah approaches the US presidential election with a one-hour “Democalypse 2016” Election special followed the next day by a post election episode looking at the results. The Daily Show with Trevor Noah – Democalypse 2016 will premiere on Comedy Central (Africa) on Wednesday 9 November at 21:00 CAT (with a funny analysis of the results on Thursday 10 November at 21:00 CAT). The news follows a record-breaking October in the US for the Noah-helmed Daily Show, which was its most-watched month ever among total viewers and its highest-rated month since February among Adults 18-49, and Comedy Central’s target millennial demographic of Adults 18-34. GUPTAS COULD LOSE MILLIONS FOR CANNING JLO

UNLESS JLo agrees to postponement of the Gupta soiree, then the Guptas could lose the millions used to reserve the singer. Yesterday Gupta owned channel ANN7 yesterday announced that they are postponing the South African of the Year Awards which were to honour locals who have done well each year.  This was to be their third awards where names such as DJ Black Coffee, sports stars Caster Semenya and Wayde van Niekerk were some of the people the audiences of that channel could vote for.
