AND THE 2016 FEATHER AWARDS GO TO...

CASTER Semenya is officially the biggest winner this year.
The Olympic gold medallist who excelled at the Rio Olympics earlier this year, last night became the biggest winner at the eighth annual Feather Awards – nabbing the role model and sports personality of the year awards.
This comes after Semenya scooped an Athlete of the Year award at the Gsport Award in August, which was followed by a personality of the year gong which she scored at the MTV Africa Music Awards last month.
Hosted at the Kyalami Theatre on the Track by television personalities Lumko Johnson and Khanya Mkhangisa, the Feather Awards are ceremony from the LGBTI community which aim to celebrate public figures who empower and captivate them. For the first time since their existence, the winners were chosen by the public who have been voting for their favourites.
Best styled female went to Black Coffee’s wife and Rockville actress Mbali Mlotswa who beat personalities Bonang Matheba and Dineo Moeketsi, while best styled male was awarded to Clash of the Choirs presenter Lawrence Maleka and Hunk of the year went to The Queen actor SK Khoza.
Struggle stalwart Winnie Madikizela- Mandela was also a big winner for the night as she got the diva extraordinaire award in the category she was competing against journalists Iman Rappetti and Redi Thlabi.
Wololo singer Babes Wodumo was awarded musician of the year while hot chick of the year was awarded to 5FM host Ayanda Thabethe who beat IT girls Roxy Burger and Duma Ntando to the prize.
Semenya is still facing more awards this year as she has been nominated in three categories at the SA Sports Awards in sports star, sportswoman and people’s choice categories and she’s up for an award at the Gupta soiree for sportsperson of the year.

Joost tape is out for all to see...

THE Joost van der Westhuizen sex tape saga descended into a tabloid frenzy last month as Heat magazine screened a grainy video purporting to show the former Springbok captain in compromising positions.  The 29-minute tape, which was shown to journalists, showed a man who bore some resemblance to Van der Westhuizen frolicking with what heat magazine described as a “vindictive young lady” wearing two G-strings “in the stripper tradition”.  It claimed that the video proved conclusively that Van der Westhuizen had cheated on his wife, singer Amore Vittone. But the magazine did not identify the woman and provided little corroborating evidence in the accompanying story. Twelve print, radio and television journalists watched the man, whom Van der Westhuizen strongly denies is him, arousing himself, running his hands over the woman’s body, and using a sex toy. Khanyi Dhlomo to wed for the 2nd time...

The gorgeous magazine editor of Destiny, Khanyi Dhlomo who also happens to be the sister to Sizwe Dhlomo, is to wed her Nigerian-American beau in December.
