FASHIONISTAS always overlook the men when it comes to red carpet style.
Unless they are in pink and overly flashy then the chances of them even
getting a mention are always really scarce. But let’s do the opposite and assess
what the men wore at the 22nd South African Music Awards although
there are no promises of surprises with the lads.

Most played it safe with the black tie, not the theme, but yes a black
suit with a tie look which always gets everyone yawning but we got to give to rapper Kiernan "AKA" Forbes for pulling off that Tiger of Sweden suit. He walked the red carpet with a huge entourage and his bestie Da Les aka North God, and yes we did notice the gold grill in our beloved AKA's controversial mouth.

If it wasn’t a black suit it was a shinny silver with black thread suit,
which E! red carpet host Katlego Maboe and Selimathunzi presenter Lunga
Shabalala pulled off ever so well. These lads definitely get the nod when it
comes to getting the best tailors in town. I’d swear their suits are always
sewn unto their bodies. YoTV presenter Lumko was also different in a brown
suit, not all felt he looked suave but it worked, it was a different colour and
did pop in the light. The Major League twins were also looking all sorts of
yummy – nice to see that twins don’t always have to dress the same… That can be
sooooo confusing!

Rapper Khuli Chana, who also mentioned he was styled by his "woman Asanda",
did his thing, although the polo-neck did get many talking as the weather wasn’t
half as cold in the tropical Durban city.

The other rappers were the talk of the talk of the town like rapper Riky Rick. We have to give it up to the guy for showing off his bod while also managing to look different and a little risqué with that Caribbean shirt.
Wasn’t our favourite look but hey we have to give it to the dude for being different. Still think he should have rocked the thick fur coat he wore during his Sidlukotini performance he held down on stage.
Emtee didn't even bother, he stuck to what we know and kept it moving in his all white garment which he accessorized with a jacket and gold jewels. He won best rap album and the biggest award Record of the Year, what a huge achievement for a newbie in the rap game.
