Khanyi Dhlomo to wed for the 2nd time...
The gorgeous magazine editor of Destiny, Khanyi Dhlomo who also happens to be the sister to Sizwe Dhlomo, is to wed her Nigerian-American beau in December. Knowing this for about a month know, I was quiet amazed when I saw it in the paper this weekend.
READ this from Sunday World:
It could be second time lucky for former model, magazine editor and now media mogul Khanyi Dhlomo, who is set to tie the knot with her dream man.
Khanyi will walk down the aisle later this year with her hunk, Nigerian-American businessman Chinezi Chijioke.
The lovebirds met at Harvard University and have been dating for over two years.
Khanyi earned an MBA at Harvard Business School and last year launched her new magazine Destiny – a high-end businesswomen’s publication.
A source close to the couple tells Sunday World they got engaged on Valentine’s Day at Khanyi’s home.
“They can’t get enough of each other,” says our source.
It is believed the wedding will be in Cape Town. Among the people on the guest list for the wedding are Mzansi celebs Carol Bouwer, Puleng and Given Mkhari, Dr Precious Moloi and former Miss SA Peggy-Sue Khumalo.
Another source says the pair are constantly on the phone talking about their love for each other and the fact that they want to spend the rest of their lives together.
Our source also reveals that Chijioke, who lives in the US, visits South Africa to see Khanyi about once or twice a month.
Another source says Khanyi, who has been keeping a low profile since she returned to the country, wants to keep her love life out of the public eye.
“Her divorce was all over the papers. She has learnt from that incident,” says our source.
Her first marriage, to Durban dentist Dr Sthembiso Mkhize, hit the rocks in 2003, while she was the editor of women’s magazine True Love.
Pressed for comment, Khanyi said: “I’m about to go into a meeting.”
Attempts to get hold of her later drew a blank.
They were married in a colourful wedding in 1992 in Durban, with the who’s who of the South African celebrity world attending.
It was reported at the time that she wanted a peaceful out-of-court settlement with regard to the maintenance of their two children and their house in Bryanston.
After divorcing, Khanyi was rumoured to have found true love in millionaire astronaut Mark Shuttleworth. They were spotted together at a number of functions, once at a glittering party following the prestigious Laureus Sports Awards in Monte Carlo in May 2003.
Before the awards ceremony, photos of them together at a party in the south of France were splashed all over the South African newspapers.
She accompanied Shuttleworth to the elegant Grimaldi Forum and rubbed shoulders with glitterati such as Prince Albert of Monaco.
