SAVANNA COMIC'S CHOICE AWARDS AIR THIS WEEKEND

South Africa’s biggest and longest-running comedy awards show, the Savanna Comics’ Choice Awards (Savanna CCA’s), will air on VUZU Amp (DStv channel 103) this Saturday 15 October at 20:30.

VUZU Amp received the rights to film and produce this one-time-only exclusive TV special. If you didn’t make it to this year’s awards, it’ll be like you were there! Catch highlights from the show, including the sketches, stand-up, celebrity performances, glitz and fashion. And of course see all the winners accepting their Waldo statuettes.

History was made this year when Tumi Morake (pictured) became the first South African female comedian to win the coveted title of Edgars Comic of the Year, considered to be the pinnacle of the annual awards.

In another first, the Savanna CCA’s announced the Savanna Pan-African Comic of the Year Award category, which will be open to comedians from the rest of Africa from next year.

Mashabela Galane: Non-English Award

Joost tape is out for all to see...

THE Joost van der Westhuizen sex tape saga descended into a tabloid frenzy last month as Heat magazine screened a grainy video purporting to show the former Springbok captain in compromising positions.  The 29-minute tape, which was shown to journalists, showed a man who bore some resemblance to Van der Westhuizen frolicking with what heat magazine described as a “vindictive young lady” wearing two G-strings “in the stripper tradition”.  It claimed that the video proved conclusively that Van der Westhuizen had cheated on his wife, singer Amore Vittone. But the magazine did not identify the woman and provided little corroborating evidence in the accompanying story. Twelve print, radio and television journalists watched the man, whom Van der Westhuizen strongly denies is him, arousing himself, running his hands over the woman’s body, and using a sex toy. SA rugby player Joost has a SEX TAPE!

OMG just as I thought sex tapes belonged to billioneaire heiress Paris Hilton and reality TV family chick Kim Kardashian but I guess I was wrong cause it seems that our SA rugby star Joost van der westhuizen has his own. An alleged sex video, in which former Springbok captain  Joost van der Westhuizen  is spotted with a young dancer and snorts white power with her, was revealed on Saturday by the Rapport newspaper. Joost insists it isn't him in the video and says he has never cheated on his wife, the singer  Amor Vittone . He says, "My heart is with the Lord." According to afrikaans paper though, the video of 29 minutes clearly shows Joost and the woman, who engages in sexual acts with him and brings him white powder to sniff on a tray. The video starts in the bathroom of the woman's flat, when she hides the camera in her handbag. Rapport claims a reliable source told them the video had been taken eight months ago.
