The Parlotones head off on tour

South African rock band The Parlotones have taken a step towards international fame - one of their songs has been featured on a US drama series

The four-man band's track Rock, Paper, Scissors, from their Radio-controlled Robots album, featured in the first episode of the sports drama One Tree Hill, which started on US TV on Monday last week.

The band's lead singer, Kahn Morbee, said: "US producers called our manager about using our songs for five or six shows, and the first is on One Tree Hill. It's amazing."

Some of the band's US fans who watched the show told them about it.

The group, now in Cape Town for the launch of their wine Giant Mistake, are about to start an international tour to promote their latest album, Stardust Galaxies.
