Mbau's man fights for her with other men? I mean really
If you have not gotten your Sunday goss papers, well Sunday World comes with a surprise for you. READ THIS:
Mandla Mthembu has been accused of threatening yet another person over the affections of his sultry celebrity wife Khanyisile Mbau. Following accusations by Mbau’s former manager Malcom X that her hubby Mandla threatened his life, Lindani Shembe, a leader in the Shembe Church, says Mandla threatened him too.
But Shembe is not intimidated. He says he met Mbau years ago, before Mthembu. “I knew Khanyi before she became a star. I used to flirt with her, but she wasn’t interested. People like Mandla won’t dictate how I see Khanyi,” he says. Shembe, head of heritage and a businesses trustee for the Shembe Church, says he bumped into Mbau at the Young Achievers awards function in Sandton after not seeing her for years. He says he invited her to the Grand Prix in Kyalami so that they could catch up. “But in between we were talking via SMS,” says Shembe. Shembe says he had read stories about Mthembu stalking Khanyi and threatening other men, but he never took the matter seriously. On the day of the Grand Prix, Shembe says he called Mbau to find out where she was, as she was running late. Shembe says when he called to check how far off she was, she told him Mandla wasn’t happy about her going to the race. “She told me she was on the highway fighting with him by phone,” he says. Mbau arrived two hours later. He says Mthembu then called him and told him to leave his wife alone. He says Mthembu was yelling and threatening him. “I was shocked and asked who he was. I told him Khanyi was in the public eye. We could be discussing anything. “He asked why we were meeting at the Grand Prix if we were meeting to chat, because there is too much noise, which means we were partying. “I told him to get off the phone. He’s not married to me. He should ask his wife why we are meeting,” says Shembe. Shembe says there is nothing between him and Mbau, and he will continue seeing her. “She knows the mother of my child, there’s nothing to hide. But I understand why Mandla is like that. Khanyi is young and hot,” he says. Several efforts to get hold of Mthembu drew a blank. Mbau says people should leave Mthembu alone. “He is protecting what’s his, but he should relax. He’s the only person I love,” says Mbau. Shembe has a history of dating celebrities. He has previously been linked to Thembi Seete, Swazi Dlamini and Brenda Fassie. Sunday World sources say Mthembu has also threatened political big shots Tony Yengeni and Julius Malema. “Khanyi met Tony in Cape Town in December and they exchanged numbers. Mbau stored the number in her phone as Mr Cape Town. “Mandla called Tony to ask who he was and why his number was on Khanyi’s phone. Tony told him not to mess with him.” Yengeni says he does not remember the incident.
THE CLASSIC COMMENT has to be this: Malema says he’s never met Mbau or Mandla. “Who is Khanyi? You mean the one who is always in the papers? I think I’m too poor for her. “As for Mandla, I don’t know him so he can’t threaten me.”
