International superstar Jennifer Lopez will perform at this year’s ANN7 South African of the Year Awards taking place November 25, 2016 at the Ticketpro Dome.  

Lopez, the award-winning singer, actress and dancer will bring her signature high octane performance and excitement to the stage at the SATY Awards.  

With over 75 million records sold and over $2 billion in cumulative film gross worldwide, Lopez is one of the greatest international acts in the world.  She is currently in production on season two of her hit dramatic television series, Shades of Blue, in addition to continuing her record-breaking concert residency, All I Have, at the AXIS Theatre in Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

Lopez will perform her hits throughout the ceremony alongside top local South African artists. This marks the third year the award show will celebrate the country’s most innovative, inspiring and entertaining artists.    
“The SATY’s are the epitome of what it means to be South African. This year the theme is ‘Reflection and Progression’ We take the time to remind people what it means to be South African - as the country commemorates the 40th anniversary of the Soweto uprising,” says ANN7 Editor in chief, Moegsien Williams.

Launched in 2014 by the news channel ANN7, the SATY’s are an awards ceremony dedicated to celebrating South Africa’s greatest musicians, artists, conservationists, sport, youth and business leaders alike. Each award given is as distinctive as the community it represents.

Joost tape is out for all to see...

THE Joost van der Westhuizen sex tape saga descended into a tabloid frenzy last month as Heat magazine screened a grainy video purporting to show the former Springbok captain in compromising positions.  The 29-minute tape, which was shown to journalists, showed a man who bore some resemblance to Van der Westhuizen frolicking with what heat magazine described as a “vindictive young lady” wearing two G-strings “in the stripper tradition”.  It claimed that the video proved conclusively that Van der Westhuizen had cheated on his wife, singer Amore Vittone. But the magazine did not identify the woman and provided little corroborating evidence in the accompanying story. Twelve print, radio and television journalists watched the man, whom Van der Westhuizen strongly denies is him, arousing himself, running his hands over the woman’s body, and using a sex toy.
