MAMAs HEAD TO JOBURG

Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) Africa and MTV Base (DStv channel 322) yesterday announced that the sixth edition of the MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA) will be held in Johannesburg.
The MTV Africa Music Awards Johannesburg 2016, sponsored by Joburg Tourism and Absolut will broadcast live from The Ticketpro Dome, Johannesburg, South Africa on Saturday 22 October 2016.
The ceremony aimed at celebrating the achievements of African and international talent will feature performances from African and international artists along with the show’s signature cross-genre and cross-border collaborations.
First staged in 2008, MAMA 2016 will celebrate African talent across 17 award categories, including Best Male, Best Female, Best Song and Best Collaboration by Absolut. The contribution of artists from Portuguese and French-speaking Africa will also be recognised in the Best Lusophone and Best Francophone categories. Additional categories include the Africa Re-Imagined Award and Personality of the Year. The nominations for the awards will be revealed in September 2016.

As part of the awards, two Road to MAMA events featuring MAMA nominees and superstar DJs, will be held in Durban and Lagos.  Another much-anticipated element of MAMA 2016 will be a music industry workshop for aspiring musicians held on the day prior to the awards (21 October).
The MTV Africa Music Awards 2016 will broadcast live on MTV Base (DStv Channel 322) and MTV (DStv Channel 130) on Saturday 22 October at 21:00 CAT. - release by Total Exposure

Joost tape is out for all to see...

THE Joost van der Westhuizen sex tape saga descended into a tabloid frenzy last month as Heat magazine screened a grainy video purporting to show the former Springbok captain in compromising positions.  The 29-minute tape, which was shown to journalists, showed a man who bore some resemblance to Van der Westhuizen frolicking with what heat magazine described as a “vindictive young lady” wearing two G-strings “in the stripper tradition”.  It claimed that the video proved conclusively that Van der Westhuizen had cheated on his wife, singer Amore Vittone. But the magazine did not identify the woman and provided little corroborating evidence in the accompanying story. Twelve print, radio and television journalists watched the man, whom Van der Westhuizen strongly denies is him, arousing himself, running his hands over the woman’s body, and using a sex toy. Khanyi Dhlomo to wed for the 2nd time...

The gorgeous magazine editor of Destiny, Khanyi Dhlomo who also happens to be the sister to Sizwe Dhlomo, is to wed her Nigerian-American beau in December. Knowing this for about a month know, I was quiet amazed when I saw it in the paper this weekend.
