FIRST it was national radio hosting gig for television personality Lerato Kganyago, and now it is acting.
Just last week, The Link presenter was announced as one of the new personalities that joined radio station MetroFM and now she has been added as new character Mmasebotsane on drama soapie Muvhango debuting on the first week on June.
SABC2 described her character as "a beautiful girl with an almost pompous
presence while deep down her inner persona, lies
a timid girl whose life revolves around making everyone around her happy. She is
just as gullible as how independent she is and is willing to do just about
anything to get what she wants. She is an intelligent young woman who always
strives to achieve the best in all she does. Generally, she is overly
confident, well-spoken, and fierce".
Said SABC2 publicist Lebo Malete; “Muvhango has been leading the pack with juicy storylines,
surprises and plot twist over the past few years. As we evolve the story allows
for new characters like Masebotsane. After doing a round of auditions, we felt
that Lerato perfectly fitted the bill to play the role of Mmasebotsane. She
brings a wealth of experience even though her contract is limited. We trust our
viewers will warm up to her charisma and great personality on screen”.
Kganyago's career started in 2002 when
she was crowned Miss Jam Alley and later Miss Soweto in 2005. Lerato is an
all-round entertainer who wears many hats and has been featured on different
programmes including her own talk show on Soweto TV. She was recently also cast on a cameo role on SABC 2 sitcom
Skwizas, and Good Morning Brazil, a Sports TV show on SABC 1 during 2014 World
Cup. - release by SABC2
