Lira gets married...

I have to say I am such a Lira fan, this lady has sass, style and the talent to be innovative musically and has proven that all things are possible when you pick yourself up again and try again.

And nos she is married about what she said: "It was private and intimate. With15 of their immediate family for a week on the holiday island. We did it this way to give thanks to our family for their love and support. We both come from close-knit families and now that our family has become larger, we have all become one very tight big family!"

And after the story was published in the paper she sent Gabiville this message: "My mom sent me the article on this morning's paper lol! Thanks you for reporting it tastefully! Much appreciated." - As if she knew I am such a fan.

Multiple award-winning singer Lira has secretly married her long time boyfriend and producer Robin Kohl.

Lira, whose real name is Lerato Molapo, tied the knot in a private wedding ceremony in Mauritius last week — on the auspicious date of 09.09.09 — and two weeks after her first ever live-concert recording.

Lira said the wedding and her soaring career had “been one amazing experience after another”.

“Two of my grandest dreams have come true in the space of a month — recording my first live concert for DVD and marrying the man I love,” she said.

But Lira refused to divulge any details of the wedding, saying: “We will not be doing stories around the wedding. We just mentioned it so people don’t speculate when they see the ring. I trust you understand,” she told The Times .

Lira has had a big year. She scooped four South African Music Awards in May and then won Glamour magazine’s Woman of the Year award. She is preparing for her first- ever live audio CD release on October 5, and live DVD release on November 9, while juggling rehearsals for another first — a performance at the Berlin Jazz Festival on November 5. -Times Live

Joost tape is out for all to see...

THE Joost van der Westhuizen sex tape saga descended into a tabloid frenzy last month as Heat magazine screened a grainy video purporting to show the former Springbok captain in compromising positions.  The 29-minute tape, which was shown to journalists, showed a man who bore some resemblance to Van der Westhuizen frolicking with what heat magazine described as a “vindictive young lady” wearing two G-strings “in the stripper tradition”.  It claimed that the video proved conclusively that Van der Westhuizen had cheated on his wife, singer Amore Vittone. But the magazine did not identify the woman and provided little corroborating evidence in the accompanying story. Twelve print, radio and television journalists watched the man, whom Van der Westhuizen strongly denies is him, arousing himself, running his hands over the woman’s body, and using a sex toy. The gorgeous magazine editor of Destiny, Khanyi Dhlomo who also happens to be the sister to Sizwe Dhlomo, is to wed her Nigerian-American beau in December.
