Dudu Zuma's bash

I always wondered when people like presidents daughters have parties if they ever have as much security, guards and if they have surprise overseas guests at all.
Well my questions were answered at Dudu Zuma's birthday bash, thought her hot twin brother would come but its evident that hot one loves his private life and will keep it at such even though he is practically the first kid of the prez. Unlike his sisters Dudu and Phumzile, he is certainly not going to be a socialite at events.

First daughter’s birthday gig

PRESIDENT Jacob Zuma’s daughter Duduzile threw a R400000 birthday bash on Tuesday night for 600 of her closest friends.

French champagne and expensive imported Cognac flowed at the Arabian-themed 27th birthday bash at which Zuma sparkled in a stunning designer dress.

The party was held at the posh Inanda Club in Sandton, in a marquee . Waiters served sushi, calamari, salmon, and chicken and beef kebabs.

The guests — including ANC Youth League President Julius Malema and Angolan President José Eduardo dos Santos’s daughter, Malva — washed it all down with Hennessy Cognac and toasted the birthday girl with Verve Clicquot and Moët & Chandon champagne.

Zuma wore a red silk dress with diamanté detail and black stilettos, but declined to reveal the name of its designer.

She made a grand entrance in a black Aston Martin sports car, and walked up the red carpet to her guests singing Happy Birthday.

Zuma’s friend, Andriano Weng, who chauffeured her to the bash, told The Times on Tuesday that Zuma had chosen the Aston Martin to make her entrance.

“Dudu asked specifically to be picked up at the Michelangelo (Hotel in Sandton) — in this car, so I thought I should make her wish come true too,” he said, but did not say where the car was from.

At the gathering were Zuma’s sisters, Phumzile and Phindile, her father’s aide Zizi Kodwa, socialite Khanyi Mbau, former Miss South Africa Tansey Coetzee, comedian David Kau, dancer Somizi Mhlongo and ramp models including Miriam Ngomani and Mpumi Gwinya.

“I am glad that everyone made it to the party, I hope they will have a good time,” Zuma said at the event.

The marquee’s interior was kitted out with red and black designer couches, wooden floors, gold lamps, and hookah pipes stuffed with fruit-flavoured tobacco for guests to smoke.

There were two perspex bars on which Zuma’s name had been engraved, and plasma screen TVs for guests to view the proceedings on stage.

Party organiser Farah Fortune said Zuma was very specific about what she wanted, and chose the theme herself. “She was very open to suggestions about most things — except the guest list ,” she said.

As the party ended, guests were handed goodie bags containing colourful Arabian dresses for women and keffiyehs (scarves) for the men.
