TERRY PHETO SIGNS TO NEW PUBLICITY MANAGEMENT

Terry Pheto signs to new publicity company. PICTURE:GABI MBELE ACTRESS and film producer Terry Pheto is the latest star to join publicity, brand and management group Brand Three Sixty Communications. Pheto who’s PR was previously done by Sheila Afari PR,  will join the likes of television and radio personality Bonang Matheba, actress Nomzamo Mbatha and musicians Anatii and ProKid in the communicatins group that also previously worked with TV star Minnie Dlamini and Idols winner Khaya Mthethwa. SOAPIES, REALITY SHOWS AND DRAMAS DOMINATE ON TELEVISION

All three shows that air on Mzansi Magic, have been raved about on social media for their brilliant cast and storylines even though Isthunzi and Lockdown were on their first seasons, they managed to get 645698 and 756310 viewership figures respectively. ANELE MDODA TO LIGHT UP BREAKFAST

PICTURE: Primedia RADIO personality  ANELE Mdoda will become the first South African woman to take over a commercial breakfast show, after this morning she was announced to be taking over 947 breakfast show. Beginning her new role in April, Mdoda will take over  Darren Simpson's 13 year long slot, after he had spent 18 years in the radio industry. Mdoda who's worked on the station's afternoon drive for five years said she was " honoured to take on the challenge of the breakfast show".  "My first big radio break was at 947 and I am thankful to management for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. In tonight’s first episode of Blind Auditions, two phenomenal singers sparked fireworks on the set of The Voice South Africa Season 2. Both Freddy Lalendle (23) and Marissa Petzer (22) sang so well that all four of the coaches turned their iconic red chairs for them, just like they did with last season’s winner Richard Stirton when he first stepped onto The Voice SA ’s stage.  During this phase of the competition the coaches assemble a group of twelve singers for their teams based on vocal ability only. Come Dine With Me SA is coming back, this time though it won't be on private broadcaster but will be on SABC3.  Initially broadcast on BBC Lifestyle for three seasons, Come Dine With Me SA, a  competition that aims at finding the ultimate dinner party host,  will launch on SABC 3 in July this year and run for 13 weeks .  In each episode, over four nights, four enthusiastic amateur chefs, who’ve never previously met, will snoop around each other’s homes, sample each other’s cooking, and pass judgment on each other’s entertaining and cooking skills and, most importantly, score each other out of 10. At the end, the person with the highest number of points is declared the host with the most and wins a cash prize. The producers of the show, Rapid Blue, are looking for a dynamic group of individuals who believe they are a whizz in the kitchen, have loads of personality and confidence, love entertaining and have the ability to perform under pressure. ...

THE LUMINEERS LOOKING FOR A LOCAL OPENING ACT

The Lumineers. PICTURE:5FM American folk rock band The Lumineers return to South Africa for their Cleopatra World Tour powered by 5FM in April. Brought to you by Big Concerts, the events take place in Cape Town on 26 April at Green Point Park and in Johannesburg on 28 April at Ticketpro Dome. As proud supporters of the local music industry, 5FM are offering their listeners the opportunity to choose the opening local act for The Lumineers. Six up and coming bands have been identified and listeners will be asked to vote for them via the 5FM app from Monday, 6 February. From the votes, three of the front-running bands will be announced and The Lumineers will chose the eventual opening act for the tour.  The six bands in the running are; Sean Kock Trio , Opposite the Other, Sannie Fox, Early Hours, Alice Phoebe Lou and The Shabs. PEARL MODIADIE ADDS FASHION TO HER RESUME

Radio and television personality Pearl Modiadie. The show called Raw Silk , is set to start next Tuesday (February 7) and will showcase thirteen upcoming local designers competing in a garment making weekly race all to win the cash prize of R100 000.
